Collecting militaria has been my hobby and passion since I first got a steel helmet from my grandfather when I was 10 years old. After that my one and only mission was to collect a fully dressed WWII German, British and American soldier… and so it began.

After collecting for many years I gathered many contacts in the militaria world and I started selling items as well to fund the hobby. In 2019 I started Sandeboetiek, based on the word ‘Santeboetiek’ which by the Flemish-Ghent’s dialect means ‘a bunch of old antique rubbish’. Some outsiders might see our hobby like this, but of course we know better.

After 3.5 years I decided to change the name Sandeboetiek into Bevo-Militaria, for a wider international approach, as I came to understand that the word Sandeboetiek was hard to remember and/or spell by foreign customers. Bevo is easy to remember and refers to the famous factory ‘Bandfabrik Ewald Vorsteher’ in Wuppertal-Baren (Germany) known for its flat woven insignia as worn by German Wehrmacht, Political and SS forces. Today I mainly focus on selling original German WW2 insignia, such as Bevo examples, helmets, uniforms and equipment. 

Bevo-Militaria is an antique shop that specializes in original World War One & Two militaria. This is a webshop for those interested in historic military antiques, including war souvenirs taken from defeated enemies. Do not confuse this intrest with extreme right ideology.
