Allgemeine SS officer visor cap ‘RZM Tuchmütze’ SS stammabteilung Göppingen 1938

Description

Stunning black Allgemeine SS officer visor cap in very good condition. Complete with original SS skull ‘Totenkopf’ and eagle, both showing matching patina, and in my opinion early pieces made by Deshler based on the design. The cap is made is quality soft black woold and the middle has a soft black velvet band (for officers!). The inside is complete black silk liner and shows a white tag that tell the size ’57’ There is also a name and unit on the tag but most of it is faded, I could only read the remains of SS Stammabteilung Göppingen. The leather sweatband is soft but shows a few tears. Under the sweat band a RZM label is visible showing the type of headgear ‘SS Tuchmütze’ and the maker mark ‘4’. The sweatband is also marked HB38 (1938).The visor itself is marked RZM SS on the brim as it should be. A beautiful and very rare SS officer visor cap!
