Early war made first pattern Luftwaffe field cap, often referred to as a Luftwaffe mountain cap or Bergmütze because its similar look to the army ones. Light worn cap, complete with its period applied national insignia up front, machine stitched with zig-zag pattern. Blue silk interior shows medium use and sweat staining. Markings are faded. Ca. 1941 construction. Size +-56. Name tag present under the front brim from ‘Otto’. A very rare and desirable hat!
