M35 Luftwaffe double decal subtle camouflage steel helmet ET64

Description

A very nice M35 double decal ‘subtle’ Luftwaffe camouflage helmet.  The helmet has been lightly overpainted with dark green/brown paint to obscure the ‘glossy’ M35 look, the decals where painted over as well, but are partially visible again due wear on the camo paint. The helmet is complete with its original liner, being a reinforced early aluminum example. The leather is complete but feels dry. The draw string is missing but the genuine Luftwaffe ‘chocolate brown’ chin strap with aluminum buckle remain present. It is period shortended, hence the maker mark is not visible. The liner is unit marked to a Aufklärungs unit (Reconnaissance). The helmet is a war trophy and a soldier painted text on the exterior, yet it remains hard to see. Maker marked shell by ET64, lot number 3971.
