M35 Luftwaffe double decal subtle camouflage steel helmet Q64

Description

A very nice M35 double decal ‘subtle’ Luftwaffe camouflage helmet.  The helmet was first camouflaged in white/tan color and has afterwards been lightly overpainted with dark green/brown paint to obscure the ‘glossy’ M35 look, the decals were always painted around. The helmet is complete with its original liner, being an early single band aluminum example. The leather is complete and feels strong. The draw string and early chin strap with aluminum buckle remain present. One D-ring for the chin straps’ attachment is gone and replaced by modern steel wire. Maker marked by Q size 65, lot number 4728.
