M40 Polizei double decal steel helmet SE62

Description

Light worn M40 pattern Police helmet in good condition. Both decals remain present for over 95% on both sides of the helmet and show sharp details. The helmet is covered in smooth pea-green paint. These early produced helmets still had the same paint and looks as the previous M35 helmet, making this a hard to find helmet in this condition. The liner remains in similar good condition as the exterior and the leather feels supple and strong. Draw string is a replacement. The chin strap is full length and maker marked by G. Singer. The liner ring is dated 1940 but the split pins look replaced at one point because they are crooked and dated 1944. The helmet is maker marked by SE, size 62. Lot number in the rear: 7309.
