M42 army (Heer) enlisted overseas field cap by Alfred Valet 1942

Description

Very rare and not often encountered M42 overseas cap. This model was only produced for one year (1942) and therefor these caps are quite hard to find, since many were converted with a bill later in the war to look like a M43. Complete with its national insignia period applied in two pieces on the front of the cap, this was common practice for these caps.  The silk lining show normal wear and markings; Alfred Valet Mützenfabrik Stuttgart – Bad Cannstadt. Missing one button up front, but could be easily restored. Desirable and rare army field cap!
