Tropical ‘Afrikakorps Sun Faded’ first pattern pith helmet by MP

Description

Hard to find first pattern pith helmet as worn by members of the German Afrikakorps and in other tropical regions such as Italy and Greece. Executed in tan colored canvas. Complete with an early matching set of Buntmetall made national shields on each side (worth some money already if sold on their own). Chin strap is present. The sweat band is complete and is maker marked by MP, size marked 57. Much harder to find example than the second pattern pith helmet in felt. A very nice actually worn example that shows ‘sun fading’.
