Description
Waffen-SS Soldbuch from SS artillery Unterscharführer Lütze who fought at the Narwa Bridgehead in February-March 1944. First he served with the SS Polizei Artillery Regiment in the 4th SS Polizei Division until 1943, then he transferred to SS Artillery Regiment 54 which served under the 4th SS Volunteer Panzergrenadier Brigade “Nederland”, which fought with distinction at Narwa in 1944. There is no question that Unterscharführer Lütze served at Narwa, he has 3 Close Combat Days (Nahkampftage) listed in his Soldbuch; two of those days are from the Narwa Bridgehead in mid-March 1944. Additionally, he earned his Iron Cross 2nd Class (EK2) in February 1944, and his Assault Badge in April 1944, both during the Narwa Campaign. His awards include the Iron Cross 2nd Class (EK2), East Medal, General Assault Badge, and Wound Badge (black).
Although Unterscharführer Lütze is German, at Narwa he served in the Dutch SS Brigade which was composed of Dutch, Germans, and Volksdeutsche. The Soldbuch is in typical combat worn condition, and includes the original ID photo in his SS uniform.
