Army (Heer) death card ‘Sniper’ J. Gattereder Normandy Ardennes 1944

Description

Very interesting death card of Gefreiter Johann Gattereder, a qualified sniper ‘Scharfschütze’ of the German Wehrmacht. Died on 17th of December 1944. The card was fully researched by the previous owner (these documents will be handed to the buyer). Gattereder was part of the 5./Grenadier Regiment 752. That saw action in both Normandy and the Ardennes. It was during The Battle Of The Buldge that he died. He is burried in the ‘Soldatenfriedhof Gemünd Krs. Schleiden today and his grave is still present there. One of the better death cards I have seen in a while, a true collectable!
