Description
Beautiful army infantry visor for enlisted men in good condition. Only has a few small moth nips, otherwise it remains undamaged. White infantry piping surrounds the cap and looks bright. A set of early ‘Cupal’ national insignia is period pierced through the front of the cap. Both eagle and cocarde show matching patina and nice details. The liner is complete with its sweatband and the typical black velvet band known for this manufacturer. The celluloid sweat diamond is still present and shows the Peküro Stirndruckfrei Deutsches Reichspatent logo and the name of the distributor ‘Kostenbader & Fritz, Militär-Effekten, Ludwigsbrug. The name tag of soldider ‘Wächter’ is also still present, together with his unit 9/I.R.13 (9th company infantry regiment 13). A similar unit mark of Infanterie-Regiment 13 is also present under the sweat band. Nice to know is that the garrison town of the regimental headquarters was Ludwigsburg, and therefor the same city as the tailor shop of this hat. The unit was later reformed into the Gebirgsjäger-Regiment 13. Size +-57-58. Beautiful infantry cap by a desirable manufacturer and nice unit history!
