Description
This Bronze finished cruciform pin commemorates the 1933 pilgrimage to the city of Trier, the home of Trier Cathedral, to view the Holy Tunic that is housed there. The Holy Tunic is a seamless tunic reputably worn by Christ shortly before his Crucifixion and is put on display in the Cathedral. This piece measures approximately 4,5cm x 4,5cm and is a pin-back and intact.
The obverse depicts the “Iron Shirt”, the word “Trier”, and is dated 1933. The reverse is marked “Kissing Menuen” and double stamped with “Ges.Gesch”, meaning patent pending. Overall the condition is very good with nice detail and finish.
