Early M35 Luftwaffe double decal steel helmet with droop tail eagle ET66 1937 unit marked

Description

M35 blue colored Luftwaffe helmet with double decals. The Luftwaffe eagle is the desirable first pattern model often referred to as the ‘Droop Tail’ or ‘Snake Leg’ variant, typical for this manufacturer. Both decals are present and show light wear. The helmet is complete with an early single band aluminum liner (dated 1937 and made by Schuberth-Werk). The leather feels soft and still has the pressed size marking! The liner still has its full length draw string and chin strap attached. The chin strap is a Luftwaffe brown example with aluminum buckle and dated 1941. The maker mark is partially faded. The liner is unit marked on the reverse, which is always a nice extra touch. Untouched helmet, split pins remain firm and tight. Maker marked by ET (Eisenhüttenwerk Thale) size 66 (ET64), lotnumber 2812.
