Description
Luftwaffe sumpftarn Fallschirmjäger jump smock (knochensack). Late war construction in light weight material. The internal pocket panels are executed in tan colored ribbed cotton. The pistol holster reinforcements are made out of silk blue cloth. Complete with its originally sewn tan glass front closure buttons. All PYRM 6 marked snaps are present and operational, some show a bit of oxidation. All four steel zippers are functional and marked by Rapid. The breast eagle is original applied on the chest, using zig-zag stichting, the same thread was used for the assembly of this jacket. Small tear on the front and also one on the back from combat wear. Maker marked with RBNr. 0/0250/0336 (Rudolph Hubert & Cie) and is dated 1944. Size marked 2 A II. The smock is named to Franz Rieper Ltn. z. See ‘Leutnant zur See’, a member of the Kriegsmarine! Certainly a possibility as in the St Malo gap in August 1944, the Festung’s commandant Von Aulock from the Heer worn a similar smock (see picture). Hard to find an untouched, light worn smock with original applied breast eagle!
