Description

WW1 reissued M1916 steel helmet for the German army (Heer). First started in the early 1930’s as a double decal army example with apple green paint. Was reissued AGAIN as a single decal example by painting the helmet in rough green paint and applying a new army decal over the old one. The tricolor shield remains visible under the paint. Helmet remains in good condition and shows light wear. Complete with liner, size 57. The leather remains supple and strong. Aluminum liner band dated 1939. The helmet decal is a classic Pocher made example, that is often found on these transitional helmets. Maker marked shell by St, size 66 = WW1 markings and then marked again ’64’ = WW2 markings. Comes with its original captured Czech chin strap, as often seen on period footage. Named in the rear to Kurt Otto. One of the best transitional helmets I have ever owned!
