M31 helmet liner size 66/58 by Werner Zahn 1943

Description

Heavy worn M31 pattern German helmet liner. Steel band, maker marked by Metall-Lederverarbeitung W.Z. (Werner Zahn) in Bln.-Chburg 5 (Berlin), dated 1943. The leather itself treated with grease, hence the darker color. The leather is twisted, back is in the front, could be easily fixed by dismantling it. The draw string is a period shoe string. This liner is intended for a 66 sized steel helmet with a head size 58.
