Description
Stunning and impressive M35 army helmet that started as an ‘apple green’ double decal example. It was camouflaged afterwards using tan paint and a ‘spiderweb’ pattern was painted in pale green color on top. The army decal is still clearly visible under the paint. The tricolor is not because in my opinion the helmet was first camouflaged in sand mixed structured paint, covering the tri color shield as per regulation in 1940 such as this helmet. The helmet is complete with its orginal aluminum liner dated 1938. The leather is supple and complete with draw string and chin strap. The dome stamp remains clearly visible. Interesting extra; a paper was found in the liner, this helmet was found in the train station of Hamburg in 1944 and was in the ‘lost-and-found’ locket, after the bombings. Markings; ET64, 3938. A very desirable camouflage helmet!!
