Early produced M35 army steel helmet in good condition. The helmet started as an apple green coated double decal helmet in 1937 but was overpainted with dark field green camouflage paint due regulations most likely in 1940 before the invasion of Western Europe. Therefore the decals are covered, but still remain visible under the paint. Inside the helmet a 1937 dated aluminum single band liner is original installed. The split pins remain straight and unmessed with. The leather is supple and shows normal wear, matching with the helmet. The chin strap is complete but period shortened. The full length draw string is present. A 1937 dome stamp is visible inside and matches the date on the liner band. Large and rare shell by NS, size 68, lot number: E63. Named in the liner. A very nice untouched M35 helmet!
