Description
Stunning M35 camo helmet. Helmet started as a early apple green M35 army (or SS?) helmet that was camouflaged twice. The last layer that is visible today is a attractive stripe pattern with sprayed ‘Normandy’ colors (tan, brown and green). The helmet shows nice and honest wear and ist complete with its early aluminum liner. The liner band shows remaints of paint, so I asume it was replaced. The draw string is present and the chin strap as well. The strap is damaged (see pictures) and period shortened for more comfort. The special thing would be the tri-color decal on the side that is often found loose in USA GI hauls, this decal was applied by the American soldier in 1945, most likely to give it an extra ‘nazi’ captured look. On both sides the original decals are still visible (ghosting) under the camouflage paint. Maker marked by SE large size 66. Lotnumber 39?? (I deem) and named to Esch. A very honest and one-looker camouflage helmet in good condition!
