Beautiful M35 steel helmet, reissued example ca. 1941. This helmet, was factory reissued in the beginning of the war, receiving a new thick rough field green layer of paint (only on the exterior!) and a new decal. The tricolor shield, is still visible under the thick layer of paint. The army decal shows sharp details and is nearly 90% intact. The helmet is complete with its original installed liner, dated 1939. The leather itself is supple and strong and shows normal traces of use. The draw string is chin-strap a post-war replacement. The chin strap, dated 1938 is very interesting because it is machine stitched to the helmet. The helmet still has its early dome stamp from 1939, as the interior was not ‘re-issued’ only the exterior. Maker marked shell by EF, size 62, lot number 20457. Beautiful army steel helmet!
