Description
Extremely hard to find early ‘apple green’ M35 navy helmet. Started as a double decal example, but the tricolor shield was removed per regulations in 1940. Another army decal was then placed on top, maybe for a training unit – I do not have an explanation for it, but that decal was again removed per regulation later in the war. The deep gold colored Kriegsmarine ET-pattern eagle sits firmly in place and shows normal wear. Its still retains sharp details. The helmet is covered in the early apple green paint showing average wear. The exterior shows a nice apple green color. Complete with original liner and aluminum band dated 1939. The full length draw string is present, as well is the early chin strap with aluminum buckle. The maker mark is faded. Shell markings; ET68 – 4660. The lot number database of Brian Ice shows many Kriegsmarine helmets in these 4600 series (see print screen). Hard to find early KM helmet!
