M36 army (Heer) enlisted greatcoat ‘Gebirgs-Artillerie-Regiment 111’ 1938

Description

Light worn standard issue M1936 army greatcoat for enlisted men, featuring a dark colored collar. The coat remains void of major damages, just shows a few moth nips on the lower back. It is complete with all buttons and retains its full length. The liner is complete and maker marked by ‘UNAG FFM’, dated 1938 (M.38). Underneath these markings the unit marking Rz./G.A.R.111 is visible which is the marking for Gebirgs-Artillerie-Regiment 111 (mountain troop artillery regiment 111), explaining the edelweiss sleeve badge on the exterior. The coat is complete with early ‘pointy’ M33 patter shoulder boards showing removed chain stitches cyphers per regulations. The boars are mismatched and probably added by the previous collector as they do not apear to show the numbers 111 – but nevertheless they fit the coat nicely and they come with it for free. A beautiful and rarely seen mountain troop marked M36 greatcoat!
