M38 Luftwaffe single decal subtle camouflage paratrooper ‘Fallschirmjäger’ helmet ET68

Description

Beautiful and worn M38 pattern paratrooper steel helmet, in ‘as-found’ condition, and was recently discovered in a pawn shop in Florida (USA). Original green coating is present and on a top an ‘anti-gloss’ smooth green paint has been sprayed over, leaving the decal exposed. The decal is present and shows similar aging with the rest of the helmet. The liner is dry but remains strong and complete with its rubber paddings. The stampings remain cleary visible; Baumuster: Heister, Berlin C2, Hersteller: F.W. Müller. Size marked; Kopfweite: Gr.57, Stahlhelm-Gr. 68. The chin straps are full length and complete with all press buttons, but the buckle itself is missing. The shell is marked on the side by ET, size 68 and has the lot number 1278. Stunning and hard to find helmet.
