Stunning and untouched – ‘been there’ – M40 pattern steel helmet. Started as a single decal army helmet that got brush painted in tan, red and green colors, making it a textbook so called ‘Normandy’ camo. The ghost of the army decal is still visible under the paint. The helmet shows average combat wear and looks great. Liner is complete and the leather is still strong, two tongues show damage. Size marked 55. The genuine chin strap is also present, maker marked and dated 1941. Split pins remain untouched. Maker marked by Q62 lot number DN148. Stunning Normandy camouflage helmet!
