A beautiful combat worn ‘veteran’ steel helmet. Standard M40 pattern steel helmet, started as a single decal army with Heer decal on the left side. Was camouflaged white during the the winter and aftethat got a thick brush painted camoulflage paint in single tone dark green. The helmet was combat worn and the helmet shows nice wear, showing all three layers of paint because of the damages. Complete with liner, in good condition. Both shell and leather show a similar soldiers name; Zoller. The liner still has its full length draw string and chin strap. The last one is maker marked by F.E.K. dated 1941. The split pins remain straight and untouched. A very nice combat helmet! Shell markings ET66 – 4961 (and another number underneath ’56’).
