Description
Recently found in a barn in the Belgian Ardennes, beautiful untouched ‘been there’ army M40 helmet. Used to be a single decal army example, but the decal was removed per 1943 regulations, and in this case also as means for camouflage. Afterwards a simplified wire was attached around the shell, fixed around the split pins to put leafs in between for a optimal camouflage look. Signs of a previous rubber helmet band are visible. Helmet is complete with original installed liner. Leather is dry but strong, has a genuine draw string and full length chin strap. The shell markings are NS66 – DN66. Beautiful untouched, uncleaned steel helmet!
