Description
Typical late war M40 helmet produced by Quist. Light worn example. This was the last helmet factory to produce M40 pattern helmets until very late in to the war before switching to the M42 style helmet. This is a classic no decal example with a 1943 dated liner band. The exterior is coated in field grey paint and shows normal wear. The helmet is complete with its original liner, size marked 56. The leather shows minimal wear and remains supple and strong. The split pins remain untouched and straight. Complete with genuine draw string. Shell shows remains of ‘white wash’, a chalck mixed white camouflage paint that could be washed away after a winter offensive, this always leaves traces around the vent holes and split pins. Maker marked shell in the rear Q64, lotnumber: DN358. Honest, untouched M40 steel helmet that could be used for a Army or Waffen-SS display.
