M40 Polizei double decal two tone southern front camouflage helmet ET62

Description

Stunning M40 police double decal steel helmet. Interesting camouflage; sand mixed paint in tan and red colors covering the helmet and leaving both decals unveiled. The helmet shows nice wear and patina. Most likely issued by the many SS-Police units serving in Italy and surrounding countries fighting against partisans. The helmet is complete with its original liner, that has a 1941 date on the steel band. The leather remains in goods condition for its age. A partial draw string is still present. Shell markings ET62 – lot number 881. This number has a direct (double) match in the database of Brian Ice for being a police helmet (see attachment)
