M40 Waffen-SS double decal steel helmet Q64

Textbook light worn M40 pattern Waffen-SS steel helmet, having rarely encountered double decals! The SS decal is a classic Quist pattern shield, that unfortunately shows some damage. It shows flaking of the right top of the decal, typical for these Quist runes. There is also a visible lacquer run off the lower and a the lower edge of the decal. The swastika decal remains in very good condition, and shows nice aging and patina. The liner is in crisp condition and the leather is supple and strong. The liner band is dated 1940. Chins strap and draw string have there full length and remain in good condition. Shell markings Q64 and lot number S0611 (matches the database of Brian Ice with Double Decal SS helmets!).
