M40 Waffen-SS single decal two tone ‘Normandy’ camouflage helmet ET66

Extremely rare M40 pattern Waffen-SS single decal helmet that was camouflaged in two tones. Unfortunately a collector dug out the SS decal, which was a common practice for collectors in the seventies. It looks like the liner has also been in and out again based on the condition of the split pins but the liner belongs to the helmet as the inside pale green color is spilled on the steel liner band. The helmet is complete with a full lenght 1942 dated chin strap and the draw string is also present. The decal is a classic ET-style SS type that matches the maker of this helmet. You can still see parts of the gold toned silver surface that was damaged when the decal got liberated of the camouflage paint. Nevertheless it remains a genuine two tone Normandy SS helmet that is extremely hard to find! Large size ET66 lot number 04.
