Army (Heer) Solbuch Franz Düchler Panzergrenadier Rgt 304 Panzer and Gold wound badge in Normandy 1944

Description

Very rare army Solbuch from Franz Düchler who started his career in 1942 when he was 19 years old. He was transfered to Panzergrenadier-Regiment 304, part of the 2nd Panzer Division that took part in the battles in Normandy 1944. He was awared the Iron Cross second class in 1943 together with a wound bagde in silver. In January 1944 he received the Panzer Assault badge in Bronze (that matches his unit) and then of course the most interesting award is the Wound Badge in Gold, that he received on June 26, 1944 for the fighting in Normandy, where he was badly wounded. If I understand correctly he stayed in multiple hospitals untill the end of the war, where he was briefly imprisoned by the Russians. Unique paper item with desirable Normandy entries!
