RARE M42 Reichsarbeitsdienst ‘RAD’ single decal steel helmet EF64

Description

A very rare and seldom encountered M42 RAD helmet. These helmets always were reissued out of army helmets, sometimes the decal was placed on top of the army decal, in this case the army decal was partially removed on the left side and the RAD decal was applied on the right. The army decal is a typical thin wing example, known for this maker ‘EF’. The RAD shield shows normal wear and scratches but remains present for 80%. The helmet is complete with its original liner, the leather still feels supple and strong. Linerband dated 1942. The shell is maker marked by EF and size marked 64. Lot number in the rear 0096. A very rare RAD helmet!
