RARE MP44 ‘Sturmgewehr’ ammunition pouch by ‘kkd’ 1944

Description

Original and textbook STG44 ammo pouch in light worn condition. The pouch, as many, is made out of recycled material. Both belt loops are maker marked and dated kkd1944. The ‘kkd’ maker mark is most likely from Lederwarenfabrik Wilhelm Stern in Posen (Poznan, Occupied Poland), also known for their shovel carriers, MG42 tool pouches, bayonet frogs and P38 holsters, also executed in recycled materials. It is told that the rubber fittings inside are made from old airplane tires from the nearby airfield! One of the leather belt loops is broken, but otherwise this pouch remains in perfect and untouched condition. A very hard to find piece of equipment, not often offered for sale!
