Tropical ‘Afrikakorps’ first pattern pith helmet

Description

Hard to find first pattern pith helmet as worn by members of the German Afrikakorps and in other tropical regions such as Italy and Greece. Exectued in tan colored canvas. Complete with a matching set of early aluminum national shields on each side. Full lenght chin strap is present and remains in good condition. The sweat band is size marked 56 and also maker marked on the reverse. Much harder to find than the second pattern in executed in felt.
