Early (mismatched) K98 bayonet in worn condition. Bayonet itself is marked S/175 G (F. W. Höller in 1935), the scabbard is marked S/185 ( Elite Diamant) and is dated 1937. It probably got mixed up early in the war and its my belief it has been together like this for over 80 years! The screw of the scabbard is missing, hence the inside can come out when you pull the bayonet. A simple new screw can solve this, but I rather leave the stuff as it was found. This bayonet was brought to me by a local farmer here in Zulte (Belgium) where it layed on the barn shelves since the war. The original wooden grips remain in good condition. A nice early bayonet!
